EU and Ukrainian representatives concluded during a joint meeting on 1 October that Ukraine currently has no need for additional international funding in 2026.

Source: Paula Pinho, Chief Spokesperson of the European Commission, on Friday 2 October, as reported by a European Pravda correspondent in Brussels

Details: The European Commission reported that it had concluded, together with Ukraine, that there is no external financing gap in 2026.

Quote from Pinho: "We had never said that there was a financial gap. This is what we were hearing from reports [from the Ukrainian side – ed.]... yesterday we came to a conclusion, together with our Ukrainian friends, that there is no financial gap."

Details: She emphasised that this is fully in line with what the European Commission had stated earlier when answering questions about Ukraine's additional financial needs.

Quote from Pinho: "When asked, and you had been asking us a number of times about this reported gap, and we were saying we need to sit down with our Ukrainian partners and assess if indeed there is a gap and to what extent."
